The QLQ and the self-assessment modules in our tests enable patients with speech and language disorders to articulate the impact of their injury on their daily activities by focusing on social interactions. This helps therapists to develop a tailored intervention that is informed by the patient’s input.
“My experience of using these Arabic-language assessment batteries is that they have a high level of face, construct, content and criterion validity. They also ensure inter-examiner and test-retest reliability. As a clinician, these assessments assist me in achieving a balance between false positives (suggesting there is a deficit that is not there) and false negatives (failing to detect a deficit that is actually present), thus enhancing the accuracy of my clinical judgement.”

“As a Speech and Language Therapist working with Arabic speakers, I've encountered significant challenges due to the lack of assessment tools specifically developed for non-English speakers. Traditionally, reliance on translated standardised aphasia tests has been inadequate because assessment stimuli are often not culturally appropriate, and syntactic constructions vary across languages. SALT Labsystem is a game-changer in addressing these issues. It provides valid and reliable speech and language assessments specifically designed for Arabic speakers, thereby enhancing diagnostic accuracy and the quality of diagnostic information. This leads to more effective person-centered interventions and offers a psychometrically robust outcome measure to monitor progress and response to treatment.”
